Charitable giving is an important value at Professional Litho.

Project Manager Yen Le and her husband were both born in Vietnam. In 1979, their families immigrated to the United States. Le says it was the kindness and generosity of the community that helped her family make a new life and find home again. Today, one way she pays this forward is by supporting Bridges to Learning. This organization provides education for Vietnamese children in need via the Anh Linh Free School. “This organization was a good way for us to give back,” Le says.

Professional Litho has supported the organization’s annual fundraising gala by gifting time and resources to create marketing collateral, such as invitations. Le says owners Craig Hanson, Dave Lee, and Gary Larson have been supportive of her passion for the charity and charitable giving. They support a culture of giving back in bigger ways, as well as smaller, more personal ones. Hanson and Larson agreed, and said that a lot of it comes organically from the people of Pro Litho.

But, there’s more to this story — the design aspect. Art Director Jenny Christensen has worked with Le on seven gala invitations. The dragon theme is Christensen’s favorite. It challenged her to stretch her design skills to make the images fit the theme and work technically. “It had more detail work put into it,” she explains. “We had to make sure all the arms and hands of the kids looked natural holding the lanterns.”

It can be a challenge to bring a fresh perspective over several years. Bridges to Learning provides a theme each year. Then, the team at Pro Litho Creative takes that theme, brainstorms, and works to represent it graphically. Vibrant colors — paired with compelling, polished visuals — help grow the excitement by bringing the theme and the organization’s purpose together.
